ANNOUNCEMENTS
WINTER EMERGENCY HOUSING PROGRAM
Once again this winter, the Freehold Clergy Association is preparing
to try to keep homeless men from freezing at night during the cold winter
months by opening our houses of worship as hospitality centers. This
year training will be offered to hosts in conjunction with Family Promise.
We have had to insure the Freehold Clergy Association for this program
and provide insurance riders for the congregations offering hospitality.
The cost of this insurance, which we have found through The McCue Captains
Agency, will be $900. We cannot function without it. Contributions
may be made out to the Freehold Clergy Association in care of: Cantor Wayne
Siet ~ Temple Shaari Emeth, POB 360, Craig Road, Manalapan NJ 07726.
SOCKS FOR THE UNDER PRIVILEGED 1/23
Socks are like "gold" to the less fortunate individuals who are out
in the cold. Men' s, women's and children's, are needed. There is a large
stocking hanging on the fireplace in the narthex just for this purpose.
We will continue to collect socks through January 18 and plan to distribute
them to the 100 to 125 guests at the St. Peter's Outreach Meals on Friday,
January 23. It would be great to have a pair of socks for each
person.

COLLECTING EMAIL ADDRESSES
We are in the process of collecting email addresses from our members
and friends who would like to receive the newsletter and announcements
via email rather than snail mail. This would go a long way in saving
our church expenses for paper, printing and postage, as well as helping
our environment. contact
ADULT CHOIR - "sing up"
Adult Choir Rehearsals will begin on September 11 at 8 PM. The
Adult Choir rehearses each Thursday evening. To join the Choir, just
come on Thursday evenings and have fun singing.

OPEN DOOR CHALLENGE
Food needs for our pantry are becoming critical. Our case load has
increased over 30% while donations have fallen 20%. This has resulted in
many empty shelves and clients receiving fewer food items. Please help
by bringing non-perishable food to church each week, and placing it in
the box by the main entrance. There is a theme for each of the months of
the year, but any donation is always thankfully received. December's
food suggestion is fruit juice.
If you have any questions contact Sharon Moffitt at 732-780-2639 or
20swan@optonline.net. Monetary contributions and grocery store gift cards
are also appreciated. The money is used to cover our daily expenses and
to support our pantry and our advocacy, hot lunch, after-school, and scholarship
programs. Please make checks payable to Freehold Area Open Door Food Pantry
and mail to: PO Box 1073, Freehold 07728. Write Hope Lutheran on the memo
line. Thank you for your continued support.

SMOKE-FREE AND NUT-FREE
Nut Free? We Try!!! "No Nuts" please!
Because of our love and concern for those whose health is compromised
by serious allergies to peanuts and tree nuts, it is the safety goal of
Hope to try to eliminate nuts and products possibly contaminated by nut
contact, from our premises. Read labels carefully. Please do not bring
such items to Hope. If you handle or consume nut products elsewhere, please
wash carefully before coming to church. Those with nut allergies should
also continue to be vigilant in monitoring their food. We need everyone's
help to contribute to this important safety goal. Thank you for you understanding.
NO MUNCHKINS!!!! Thanks!
Dunkin Donuts advise that any of their products may contain allergens,
including peanuts. ALSO, no sales of popcorn or cookies
- these items may contain nuts or nut products and should not be opened
or consumed on premises. Please transfer your items outside of the building.
SIMPLY GIVING
Through the Simply Giving program, your gifts are made through a pre-authorized
withdrawal from your bank account. You determine the frequency of
your automatic gift - weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly - the option is
yours. Your gift is withdrawn from your account. Your gift
is deposited into Hope's bank account on the same day it is withdrawn
from your account. It is reliable and safe. Thrivent Financial
for Lutherans offers this program and you do not need to be a member
of the Thrivent programs to enroll in Simply Giving. You may get
the forms from the church office or at Thrivent's
website.
WORK PROJECTS
There are cards located in the foyer for you to take and perform the
