Please bear with us while we are under
construction! Worship

and Hope Christian
Preschool is conducting classes as usual.
James Wishbow Construction
summary of operation:
| 1) |
Remove all items from
the Sanctuary and protect
existing carpet, organ console & pipes, audio
console and pulpit. |
| 2) |
Create a pitched roof
over the Sanctuary area
with the installation of 26 wooden trusses, covered
by a standing seam
roof to blend in with previous renovation. Perform
minor structural repair
to selected existing trusses. |
| 3) |
Remove the sheetrock
from the sidewalls/ceiling
of the Sanctuary. Remove existing R-11 insulation
from the sidewalls. Inspect
and clean/disinfect wall sheathing/studs and
insulate with R-19 or better.
Existing electric baseboard heating system to
remain. Reinforce lower level
wall studs to accommodate additional loading from
pitched roof. Install
new sheetrock on walls and ceiling, and insulate
ceiling (currently un-insulated)
with R-30. |
| 4) |
Install a new high
efficiency 10 ton air conditioning
system with a split system to supply heat utilizing
a gas-fired furnace
with the compressor to be on the ground outside the
west end of the Sanctuary
with the air handler/furnace in the attic created by
the new pitched roof. |
| 5) |
Construct a floor-to-ceiling, stone veneer facing
panel attached to
the back wall behind the altar. |
| 6) |
Upgrade Sanctuary
lighting. |
| 7) |
Install a state of the
art audio system (audio
is on us). |
| 8) |
When completed the
Sanctuary will be paint ready
(we will need to hire a painter). |
General Notes:
| 1) |
The building committee
of nine people, has been
meeting for a year. |
| 2) |
Three professionals have
been hired to assist
us (architect, structural engineer and mechanical
engineer). |
| 3) |
A special meeting of the
congregation was held
in October, 2011 where the professionals and
Building Committee members
presented extensive information to those attending. |
| 4) |
The Annual Congregation
Meeting in November,
provided another forum for the distribution of
information and to give
answers to all questions regarding the renovation -
to those attending.
Please attend these congregation meetings as this
best way to get first
hand information. |
| 5) |
A motion was passed to
secure a loan, not exceeding
$250,000.00 from Thrivent Financial for Lutheran,
which includes a roll
over of our current loan with Thrivent of
approximately $20,000.00. Thrivent
has offered us the loan and details are currently
being worked out. |
We paid down our previous renovation loan from
$300,000.00 to $20,000.00
in six and a half years. We need the support of all
members to get behind
this new project by giving generously, beyond our regular
giving, in order
to fast track our loan repayment so as to substantially
reduce the amount
of interest we pay going forward.
Respectfully submitted,
Gerry Bergh, Finance Committee Chairman
